I managed to catch the Summer Tour at St Andrews.  Watching the company in such a small venue is a very different experience from the mainstream tours.  The inclusion of excerpts from In Light & Shadow and Ride the Beast showcased the dancers.  I was also very impressed with the two new pieces but in particular Lull which was almost dreamy at times and a great close to the show.  I was sat next to people who had not seen the company before and were very impressed with the show and the technique of the dancers on show.

I too saw the production in Stranraer.. the whole sequence of Traume was very dreamy.. I think that was the way it was supposed to be?

I left with it in my mind.. looking forward to catching the full Ride the Beast performance in the Autumn!

I saw the same production performed in Forfar, it was great to see a ballet performed in a smaller venue showing that ballet is now reachable for everyone. I especially enjoyed the excerpt to Radiohead music, Ride the Beast and am also looking forward to watching the whole performance in the Autumn tour.

My 5-year old daughter and I very much enjoyed the Scottish Ballet summer tour at the Maltings Theatre in Berwick at the end of June.  Aimee in particular was fascinated with the plot of Othello (this was when Othello really did rip the scarf) and talked about it in detail at the discussion in the bar afterwards.  Can you remind me, who were the two ladies from Scottish Ballet who hosted the discussion?  They were very patient with Aimee, asked her about her ballet classes and made her a promise if we go to see Sleeping Beauty at the Festival Theatre in January.  Can you identify yourselves so we can find you again?
