| I registerd today and find that I am the first to post! For me, this must be a first! I have been a follower and fan of Scottish Ballet since its early touring days inthe 1970s and hope that it continues to prosper. I would love to see revivals of some of the early works, especially to add variety to Mixed Programmes. Are there other folks out there who agree? For me, ballet and dance are as much about joy as they are about angst and I would love to see nad hear more pieces which explore rapture and joy. A great deal of emphasis recently has appeard to focus on angst-ridden, tortured souls who are driven by cacophonies of sound. With all the stresses of modern life, perhaps ballet and dance audiences need more uplifting and joyous works? I hope the forums provide all dance lovers with many opportunities to share ideas and opinions.

Hi – thanks for your post and welcome to Scottish Ballet forum! Some information we thought might be of interest to you on our forthcoming tours: Our Summer Season 2008 tour features a revival of Peter Darrell’s Othello from 1971 (it was also featured as part of Spring Season 2007). The tour also features a commissioned piece by Diana Loosmore, whose brief was to devise an upbeat finale for the tour’s repertoire… In addition to this, we have a new piece called Pennies from Heaven premiering in our Autumn Season 2008. A new work from our Artistic Director Ashley Page, the piece is playful interpretation of the atmosphere and lyrics of popular songs from the 1930s. Although it will also touches on some harder themes from the period, it should definitly be an uplifting piece! Ewan
